…and just to remind us that we’re NOT in Paradise, we awoke to the sound of torrential rain! It’s amazing how the character of a country can change with the weather. Stavanger looked really grotty – so much so, after we’d gym-ed and breakfasted, we decided to stay on board until the weather cleared-up. Looking at the guests arriving back on board, it looked like it was a wise decision – they were soaked!
Eventually though, we thought we’d risk the bad weather. We dug out the coats and umbrellas, and suitably equipped, we slithered off the Ship into the town. There were two other Cruise Ships in, so the place was packed – but it all felt a little disappointing with the rain turning into the variety that’s very mist-like and doubly wet! Yuk!
Soggy Scenes from Stavanger
Within the hour, we were back on-board, slightly soggy for the experience and wondering what to do next. In the end we decided we’d grab a lounger round the pool and spend the rest of the day reading and sleeping!
We had our meal in the main restaurant tonight – our last chance to dress-up! Afterwards we went to the Arena Theatre for Hot Ticket – a production that recreated the hits from some 0f the more modern Wet-End Plays such as Wicked, The Jersey Boys and The Lion King. It was another blockbuster production, with superb lighting and stage effects, as well as great songs and singers! It was a superb end to the evening.
We’re at sea tomorrow for the journey back to Southampton, and if all goes to plan we’ll disembark around 9am on Saturday.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
