Go Figure!

A bit like Marmite, you either love or hate the GoCompare.com TV adverts. They’re from that group of ads (so-bad-they’re-good) that make them instantly memorable! So, when I came across their latest a few days back, I couldn’t decide whether it’s simply genius… or simply crap! You decide! <img alt=”” galleryimg=”no” onload=”var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById(‘034309f3-11ed-4b7f-9a48-afa20c4c860c’); downlevelDiv.innerHTML …

TV: BBC 2’s ‘Line of Duty’

If you like your Brit Police procedural dramas a little different, then give episode 1 of BBC 2’s ‘Line of Duty’ a watch on iPlayer. It began on BBC2 this week (Tuesday) and felt very realistic right from the start. There’s plenty of well-known faces, and the acting is top-notch throughout. The numerous twist-and-turns throughout …

The Bionic Woman

Heard from the hospital today – they’ve fitted Mum with a heart-pacemaker to accompany the three stents she had fitted a couple of months ago. Hopefully, she’ll be discharged in a day-or-so, then I think I’ll enter her for the London Marathon next year!! Phew! That was all a bit ‘touch-and-go’ for a moment there!

Keep Taking the Tablets (Please!)

What was going to be a pretty straightforward Saturday: ‘Meet-up-with-Mum, Neil and Debbie-for lunch-and show-off-the-wedding-pics’ rapidly turned into a completely different day! WEDNESDAY: It all started when Mum rang and announced that she’d tripped over her shopping bag and hurt her back. FRIDAY: Mum rang to tell me that “because Doctors at her surgery don’t …

Sky Gods

We love our TV, and more especially, all the ‘stuff’ that the ‘Sky-Gods’ provide – the excellent sky-box (that consistently wins all the design awards when pitched against everyone else’s), the mobile app, and the ability to set-the-box using my phone – these all make watching our fave programmes a breeze.  Something we’ve got very …

Tea anyone?

All this rain we’re getting, does at least have one advantage: by not being able to get out, it allows me to get on with other stuff. The stuff in question this time has been to design a web-site for a long-standing friend and business colleague for his recently purchased Tea-Room in Stratford-upon-Avon.     …

London Calling – 1

I headed for London this afternoon, to meet up with Carey, Antoinette and Angela. We’ve booked a table at one of our favourite haunts – ‘EV’ (part of the Turkish ‘TAS’ restaurant chain) near Waterloo. Well, it was great to catch-up, and seemed like ages since we’d done this (it wasn’t that long ago!). The …

Jubilee Holiday: Arrival

Here we are within spitting distance of Fountain’s Abbey, and as expected, not a mobile signal in sight! (Yes, Vodafone and O2, I’m looking at YOU!). We’re spending the Jubilee Weekend/Bank Holiday plus most of next week here with Roger, Jane and Oliver taking in the local attractions, including of course, next door: National Trust’s …

Terrific Tapas

It’s a fact: There’s ‘food’, ‘very good food’ and ‘food round at Karen and Paul’s’. Tonight was ’Tapas’ – and a real treat for our taste-buds. Add to that, Rosi’s ‘Toblerone cheesecake’, and dinner-dates don’t get much better! ‘Yummy’ with extra yumminess!!! Combined all of this with drinks on the patio under a perfect blue …
