We drove to Ian and Ann’s for lunch today. The weather had been a bit mixed but we were lucky enough to eat outside. Alice was there and later, Dermot and Caroline arrived complete with the twins.

After lunch, the four of us took the short drive to National Trust’s Coughton Court,  about a 10 mile drive away. The heaven’s opened just as we got there, so we made a dash for the House from the waterlogged car-park and the 3.15 timed tour. What a fascinating place! Home of the Throckmorton family since 1409, it had a interesting and well-preserved house as well as gardens too! In spite of the atrocious weather, it was well-worth the trip.
