Biscuit and Bon Bon - November 2007

CATS IN – Time for the cats, Biscuit and Bon-Bon, to have their six-weekly ‘service’, courtesy of Patsy, What made it different on this occasion, was that Ann had to wrestle the two fluff-bundles into the cat carriers on her own, as I was already out. Cue lots of scratching, fighting and aggressive behaviour? Well, no, actually! Apparently, they were as co-operative as you’d want them to be – that’s a first!!

PHONE DOWN – Meanwhile, I’m wrestling with a problem of my own – my trusty HD2 has suddenly decided it doesn’t like syncing data with the home PC giving me a very strange error message about ‘deleting some folders to free up space’. After a bit of googling, it turns out that this message is mis-leading (thanks Microsoft!) and the error is caused by some corrupted data, somewhere in my diary. Yeesh! I’ve got 1500 contacts, 2000 calendar entries and many hundreds of tasks – that’ll take an age to sort out! This is the second time this week this has happened, and I solved it earlier by deleting the ‘partnership’ and re-synching – this time however, the problem persisted after recreating the partnership.

So, after two hours of checking, double checking and triple checking the data, I’d narrowed it down to a corrupted task. Just as I was psyching myself up for a manual trawl though hundreds of ‘to-dos, I could see the PC and HD2 were now syncing of their own accord and after completion, there were now NO errors!!! Bizarre! A phone on the verge of a nervous breakdown, if you ask me!

The Wheatsheaf at Titchmarsh
HUMANS OUT – In the evening, we drove over to The Wheatsheaf at Titchmarsh to meet up with Mick and Jane for our swap-christmas-presents-and-get-together event. The place was packed and we’d quite forgotten how superb the food is there. I settled for the crispy chilli beef salad for starters followed by venison bourguignon, then baked strawberry alaska to finish me off!
