First Visit: The Wharf Inn, Welford

Reading time: < 1 minute...

We headed off to Welford today – it was our first visit to The Wharf Inn.

We met up with fellow ‘Northants Nutters’ – Paul & Sue and Richard and Nicki – for lunch.

It was already buzzing when we arrived just before 1pm. After getting some drinks from the Bar we were shown to our table. It may not have been the most attractive Pub we’ve ever been to, but the food was to turn out to be delicious!

The portion sizes were probably the most memorable – especially for those who chose the Steak (Ann and Sue)!

Not only were the portions very generous, they all had a very ‘home-cooked’ feel about them (they were!). I was the only one to opt for a Dessert (and it didn’t last long!) 😉. It turned into a very long lunch and we didn’t leave until just before 3.30pm – surely a good sign! In fact, by the time we paid the bill (just £50 per couple) we were the last to leave.

Another fine eatery to be added to our list! 👍🙂
