It had been a busy day already – and it was only 7am! Ralph & Karen had slept over after helping us celebrate our Anniversary, yesterday. After a rather hurried breakfast at 9.30 and having said goodbye to them both, it was straight into final prep for today’s gathering!
Paul & Sue, Geoff & Rhonda, Richard & Nicki plus us two all met at ours for this year’s Nutters’ Christmas Lunch. What with our recent holiday, we were a bit later with this than 2023 where then, it was our first Christmas Meal of 2023!
We had so much fun, I forgot to take any photos of us all – just the food! 😕😕

As usual, Ann performed miracles on the menu front with more than a little help from Nicki playing tom her strengths as ‘Galley Slave’ and keeping the kitchen ship-shape. The remaining Nutters all did their bit too, making it a real collaborative effort – stuffing (two types) courtesy of Sue, Mince Pies from Nicki and Cheese and Crackers from Rhonda!
We ate a lot, drank a lot and (most importantly) laughed a lot! We even had time for a Quiz as we fought off the obligatory ‘Sunday afternoon’ nap’. We made some key decisions about our ‘On Tour’ event for 2025, where, at this early stage, on the shortlist, is a return to Warners, possible their new one in Runnymede aka The Runnymede on Thames.
Phew! Events fizzled out just after 5 and after a frantic clear-up with the dishwasher on full-time duties, we finally put our feet up just after 6.30. Just time (before we crashed-out) to finish watching the latest Dalgliesh episode and with our eyes slowly closing, the slightly ‘not-sure-about-this-series-yet’ Return to Paradise – Episode 4.
We finally gave in to exhaustion just after 8pm! Party Animals ehh? Well, part-time Party Animals! 😀😀💤💤

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
