There wasn’t much on the TV this afternoon, so Lee suggested we watch one of here recently acquired DVDs: The Birdcage.
Starring Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest, Dan Futterman and Mrs Harrison Ford (Callista Flockhart), it’s based on a French farce of the same name (but in French, of course!)
It turned out to be a real scream. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane were very convincing as a couple of married (to each other) gays pretending to be straight for the meeting with their ‘son’s’ future wife’s parents (try and keep up at the back!)
The final scene where Gene Hackman is dressed as a woman in an effort to leave the gay-club without being recognised, was simply unmissable!!!

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff.
