We took Biscuit along for her regular ‘wash and brush-up’ today. I finally finished tidying up the loft. We dumped the CRT TV in the kitchen, as it hasn’t been working for ages and it gives us an excuse to look out for a cheap flat-screen TV with Freeview some time later this year. Ann …

Loft Handed – Part III
Bob returned to carrying on boarding out the loft. An excellent job, but I think we might need even more of it boarded-out after last Sunday’s mega-tidy-up Still, as it currently is, it allowed me to moved all my techy hardware from the top of the wardrobe into the loft as well as all the …

100,000 mile Mondeo!
Well, today saw the Mondeo clock up 100,000 miles! It hit exactly 100,000 somewhere between the station and home after dropping Ann off for work. It’s been a really reliable car (apart from the alternator problems a while back), and still goes like a rocket!!!
Cancer – update
We heard from Jo this morning that the hospital has discovered that Janet’s cancer HASN’T spread and is confined to the local area of her leg. That’s great news (if there can be great news in these situations!). Hopefully, we’re going to get down and see her this weekend!

Cancer
We heard this week that our great friend Janet has been diagnosed with bone cancer. :((((( The treatment will start almost immediately – chemo and stuff. It’s going to be horrible for her and they’ll be a lot of pressure on her partner Jo to keep it altogether. I can’t imagine how we’d cope with …

Loft Handed – Part II
As planned, I spent the morning in the loft, tidying up, throwing out and generally tidying up in preparation for Bob’s visit sometime this week coming to complete the boarding job. They started the job last Thursday. It looks 1000% better already – and that’s with only half of it boarded out! We can see …

The Cable Guy/Karen’s Birthday Meal
Reconnected the external aerial to the HiFi today (because the aerial guy had connected the down-cable to the socket near the TV rather than the original circuit behind the glass cabinet). It meant running a length of co-ax along the outside back wall to save lifting the carpet up to conceal it. It took longer …

Meal out with David and Val
We went out for a meal with David and Val as part of our normal four-weekly visit to local restaurants. This time we went to ‘The Thornhill Arms’ in Rushton. A fantastic starters and main-course menu although the desserts selection was a bit ordinary (but tasty). It was very busy – even though the weather …

Long weekend in Bath – Day 3
We had a great run back to Ralph and Karen’s even though the weather was atrocious as we left Bath. We got back to theirs by around 12.30 and after a quick cuppa we were on out way back home at 1.30. We should be home by 3.30…
Long weekend in Bath – Day 2
We were up around 8 this morning. The weather looked a bit overcast, but that won’t affect our day too much as we’re off to the Spa at 11 for a number of treatments followed by two hours using the other Spa facilities. Wow! What an experience! The spa pool was great – really warm …

The Plasma TV arrives…
I suppose, I’ll look back on this Blog in future years and giggle at this ‘latest technology’, but right now, it’s the best TV AND picture I think I’ve ever seen!!! At around 2.40, John Lewis arrived with the package. A surprisingly slim box that was easy to open although I don’t reckon we’ll be …

Bye-Bye Toshiba CRT TV…
For us, (well, me actually!), this is a sad moment. The TV rental company (Cottons of Peterborough) picked up the Pioneer 36″ TV today. This is to make way for our shiny new 42″ plasma Panasonic that’s coming tomorrow. I guess it’s sad, because I’ve been with the TV rental company for as long as …

Nicki’s joined us for the weekend – brilliant! We’re off to Mazza’s tonight and taking the train to Newcastle tomorrow for some ‘retail therapy’.
Super TV
After looking at the TVs in John Lewis last weekend, we plan to replace ours sometime soon. I also took some time out to look at Karen and Paul’s new HD TV. Excellent stuff – a Sony Bravia 40″. Fantastic picture quality!
Jaguar clock fixed!
Finally, Jaguar have managed to solve the problem with the car-clock losing time. They’ve replaced the unit that was malfunctioning. Quite why it took them so long to decide that was the best thing to do, I’ll never know, but at least it’s fixed! That’ll now save me 1 minute a day not having to …
