Here is what Digital Spy had to say:-
“The final episode of Life on Mars managed an audience of 7 million viewers for BBC One last night. The 9pm show was watched by 28% of the audience over the hour, beating previous episodes which have pulled in an average of 6 million. The Kudos production, which stars John Simm as modern-day detective Sam Tyler, has been rewarded by Bafta with a nomination for Best Drama and Simm up for Best Actor at this year’s awards.Tyler’s on-screen partner, DCI Gene Hunt is to return to BBC One next year in a spin-off show Ashes to Ashes.Set in 1980s London, it will see Hunt, played by Philip Glenister, partnered with a “straight-talking” single-mother, DCI Alex Drake. The producers are yet to cast an actress for the role before filming begins in the summer.”
