John Lewis Christmas Advert (2025)

Reading time: 2 minutes...

Yes, it’s that time of year again! The John Lewis Christmas Advert launched at 8am this morning! As many of you know, I normally post about their annual offering.

This year’s has no words and is a real tear-jerker. It was launched 10 days earlier than 2024’s (I nearly missed it!) and created once again this year by Saatchi & Saatchi. Featuring a father and son, there are no spoken words, and the soundtrack is pure 90’s disco! – the track ‘Where Love Lives’ by Alison Limerick then mixes into a much slower new version by the British singer and producer, Labrinth. It ends with the onscreen strapline: “If you can’t find the words, find the gift”.

Aww! 😉

John Lewis will be selling a limited edition vinyl record featuring both versions of the track via the Rough Trade record shop sections already in stores and via its shopping app. Profits from the £14.99 record will go to the John Lewis Partnership’s Building Happier Futures programme, which helps people who have grown up in care.

This one is JL’s 16th (!!) since they began the trend of the big retailers spending mega-amounts on cinema-quality productions.
