Well, here we are then. After a total of 27 years, 3 months and 7 days of ultra-loyal service, it all ended for Ann today. Next Monday, the new organisational chart will have been air-brushed in, and on paper, it’ll be as though she had never existed.
…as many have said before: ‘What price loyalty..?’
These lyrics by Eric Woolfson from the Album ‘Turn of a Friendly Card’ seem strangely appropriate…
Nothing’s good, the news is bad,
The heat goes on and it drives you mad,
Scornful thoughts that fly your way,
You should turn away, ‘cos there’s nothing left to say…
You gave the best you had to give,
You only have one life to live,
You fought so hard, you were a slave,
After all you gave, there was nothing left to save!
You read the book, you turn the page,
You change your life in a thousand ways,
The dawn of reason lights your eyes,
With the key you realise to the kingdom of the wise
Nothing ventured, nothing gained,
No more lingering doubts remain,
Nothing sacred or profain,
Everything to gain

Onward and upward then! One door closes and another one opens…
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
