Crikey, I can’t believe we’re now 200 days since they announced the first Lockdown! When I wrote about this after (just!) 100 days, I don’t think anyone imagined we’d still be trying to cope with the reality of the coronavirus nearly 7 months on!!
In fact, as I type, it looks like things are going to get worse before they get better (again!) as the ‘second spike’ takes hold. The reality is that those testing positive are rising, deaths are on the increase, so are admissions to hospitals, businesses are failing, and most people’s social life is in tatters.
I can’t recall the last time I shook hands or hugged someone – as a result, I’m now well versed in the infamous ‘elbow bump’. We’ve been lucky in that we just squeezed in a holiday to Scotland before they tightened things up), but like most people, every other holiday abroad that was planned has now been cancelled or rescheduled. Not surprisingly, future getaways look like they’re all going to be UK-based (and there’s nothing wrong with that!)
It won’t be Scotland again though – not in the immediate future – as I just heard they’re about to be locked-down even more than England for the next fortnight (that’s THREE weekends!).
Maybe see you back here in another 100 days? Hopefully not!! 😲
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
