Ann and I decided to go to The Pheasant at Keyston to celebrate Ann’s new-found freedom! 🙂
Weather-wise, it wasn’t a particularly nice evening (it was raining again), but was good to mark the event!!!
We arrived just before 7.30 and unusually, it was difficult to find a parking space! Strange! When we got inside, it was packed! Luckily, we were soon spotted by the observant bar staff and shown to our table. Not long after, our glass of champagne arrived and we then perused the menu.
Since the last time we were there, they seem to have completely re-written the menu – and it ALL looked impressive. Spoilt for choice, we settled in the end, for a t-bone steak to share, (massive!!) followed by cheese (for Ann) and a baked banana tatin for me. Ann washed it down with a port and I had a sweet of dessert wine.
Given Ann’s new unemployed status we were remarkably ‘chilled-out’ and we really enjoyed the food and The pheasant’s good very good excellent customer service.
We got home around 9.30 and watched the Omid Djalili recorded earlier in the week.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
