We drove to the Rose & Crown Bistro in Yardley Hastings today to meet up with Chris & Gill and Steve & Denise for Lunch.

It was our first visit and came highly recommended (although this was our second attempt as we cancelled on the 24th April, because I was down with a cold and Ann’s leg was troubling her again!)

It was worth the wait, and although the Pub didn’t look that special from the outside, as soon as we were seated, the menu told a different story – plenty of choice with some unusual options (Salmon & Crab Burger or Korean Short Rib anyone?). Looking around, there were plenty of seats both inside and out – and filling up fast – clearly indicating this was a popular place for its food offering!

They had certainly done well in the Food & Drink Awards over the past three years! 👍

It was a gorgeous day out there, but we opted to sit inside – in the cool! The meal certainly didn’t disappoint! Attractively presented and full of flavour, we were impressed from the start. The service also punched well above its weight, with bonus points for the attentiveness they gave to one of our party who was Gluten AND Dairy intolerant.

It was a great experience all around, and we’re sure to be returning there again! 👍😀.

When we left just after 3pm, the temperature was at 27℃ and rising, so our decision to sit inside was a good one! 👍
