Happy New Year! We began the new year with David & Valerie – and lunch at The Pheasant in Keyston!

Wow! It was the best meal of the year! 😀. Seriously though, the food was excellent! Really good value too, at just £47 per head for three courses and tea/coffee (and chocs!). We were given a table just outside of the main restaurant area – the only downside being a chilly blast every time someone arrived via the car-park entrance.
They were busy, but there were plenty of staff around, and we were well looked after. I haven’t seen them this full for a long, long time, and it all helped to create a great experience that reminded me of The Pheasant when we first started going there, 20+ years ago! 😊
It was great to catch up with David and Valerie too, having not really had much time for a long natter since I saw them briefly just before Christmas! 👍👍. New Year’s Day can sometimes feel a little ‘flat’ for us, and today might become a regular thing in future years.
With absolutely no room for food of any description (until our next opportunity! 😉) we dropped David & Valerie off near ours and popped into Jo & Janet’s to exchange new year gifts and a quick catch-up. What a great start to 2025! 👍👍

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
