Our Anniversary 2015

Reading time: 2 minutes...

It’s Sunday afternoon, 2pm and we’ve just arrived at The Crown, Stamford on the eve of our 4th (31st in ‘old money’) Anniversary. Ralph and Karen arrived just before us, and after Ann and I checked in to room 14 (with a great view across Stamford town)

..the girls then explored Stamford whilst Ralph and I explored the beer – and also the strange, rather unique lighting above us!

In the evening, Nick & Celina arrived, and then shortly after David & Valerie joined us for our Anniversary Eve Meal. After about half-an-hour in the (very busy) Bar, we headed for our table.

We had a great time. The food and service was excellent, and it’s fair to say we ate, drank and merried our way into the night. We even managed to play a few rounds of charades – much to the surprise of the other guests in the restaurant – each of us bringing our own unique delivery-style to the occasion!
🙂

And next thing we knew it was closing time, and as we said our goodbyes to Nick & Celina and David & Valerie, Ralph & Karen and Ann and I made the most of the Hotel and stayed over.

Monday
Lots of cards and pressies started the day and we arrived late (by our standards) for breakfast. It was difficult to resist the Full English – so I didn’t! In fact, just like the previous evening, we did the menu justice before leaving Ralph and Karen to explore Stamford, whilst Ann and I headed home.

It was a good time to travel, and we were home in no time (after filling up the XKR to take advantage of petrol being less-than-a-pound-a-litre.

We spent the rest of the day catching up with the TV we’d missed.

It’s been a great celebration – thanks everyone, you’ve made us both feel very special!
