Here we are then – new year’s eve..and we’ll be one of the first to see it in as we’re 11 hours ahead of home : ) According to the local news, ove3r 1 million people are going to be heading for the immediate area to see the firework display – and there are signs everywhere illustrating the massive task of ‘locking-down’ Sydney to ensure it’s a safe and secure place to be. Apparently, they stopped people entering the city as early as 3pm today!
For us, no such worries as we were lucky enough to get tickets for Sydney Opera House that included:
- A meal
- An Opera show
- A private view of the firework displays at 9pm and at midnight
- A private party
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE FROM SYDNEY!
Tomorrow will be a bit of an anti-climax. We’re checking-out around 11am and doing nothing in particular until the chauffeured limousine picks us up and takes us to the airport around 6pm. We’re then flying to Dubai and spending the last few days of our honeymoon there – It’s a tough life!!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
