Mini-Break: Edinburgh, Day 4
It’s always the way isn’t it? We’re checking-out today and the weather is the best we’ve had since we arrived! We checked-out around 11 and killed a bit of time taking a short walk to the (Scottish) National Trust’s ‘Georgian House’. Lovely! We then picked up our luggage from the Apartment and walked to the …

Mini-Break: Edinburgh, Day 3
We woke up to a very rainy day. After breakfast, we headed out in the pouring rain and took a longish walk to Holyrood – home of the Scottish Parliament. We couldn’t get access to much, but we did take a look round the ‘Queen’s Gallery’ that was full of some lovely pictures. We the …

Mini-Break: Edinburgh, Day 2
We didn’t get up until 9am!! So, after a slow getting-ready process (in spite of a lay-in, I felt shattered…drugged almost!), we planned our day. We decided to visit a number of Museums within walking distance of the Apartments. We also wandered along the ‘Royal Mile’. This was full a number highly colourful characters (literally!) …

Mini-Break: Edinburgh, Day 1
We left home around 6.45, leaving Lee and Bertie to house-sit. We had a good journey to Birmingham Airport and arrived about an hour later. Our flight is scheduled for 10.35, so we had plenty of time to kill before taking off. A trouble-free flight and it even landed ahead of schedule. 45 minutes later …

Mum returns home
My back was still aching, so Ann took Mum back today at around 10am. Having looked at the traffic cams, it looks like it’ll be a good journey. However, Ann rang after getting onto the M11 where she promptly came to a halt. Looking at TrafficMaster showed a tail-back right up until Bishops Stortford going …

Family Weekend
An early start for me. After dropping Ann off at the station, I travelled down to Mum’s and picked her up. She’s staying with us for a week. A slightly sluggish journey there, but a better one coming back. We got back to ours just after 10. Roger, Jane and Oliver arrived about 9pm – …

FireFox 3 installed
I’d installed FF3 on the laptop this week to try it out. It’s excellent and didn’t crash once. Not so sure it’s much faster though – although it does seem to load quicker! Based on this success, I installed it on Ann’s PC and my Dell desktop today.

Doctor Who – Series 4, Episode 13 FINAL EPISODE
Well, the final episode of the current series..and no series on 2009 except for a few ‘specials’.
