Taste of India

No, not another one of our holiday Posts from the other side of the world! πŸ™„

Tonight, we returned to Taste of India in Bridge Street, Rothwell. Gosh! The last time we were here was in February 2012 (also with Paul and Sue!) β€” and before that, way back in 2005! Where does the time go ehh?!?!😲. Back then, this had become our go-to Indian when we first moved to Kettering, back in 1996, but in the intervening years, we defected to those closer to home. First, the ill-fated, Mazza’s and then more recently, The Exotic Dining. No special occasion tonight, we just fancied a nostalgic return to one of the best Indian Restaurants in this neck of the woods! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

When we arrived just after 7pm, it was already enjoying plenty of customers (just how we remember it!). What was also noticeable was how much trade they were doing with takeaways. If the media keeps reminding us that ‘everyone is tightening their belts’ then Rowellians don’t wear belts – or no-one saw the memo!! πŸ€”

It was a fantastic meal and Paul and I were even tempted by one of their ‘freshly frozen’ desserts! The latter may not have been the height of ‘Indian Cuisine’ but my ‘Chocolate & Cookies’ and Paul’s ‘Strawberries & Cream’ both went down a treat.

By 9.30 we were all ‘nicely stuffed’ and in a welcome gesture, the restaurant offered us a free spirit to round off the evening. A nice touch (and generous amounts too!) with Sue and I enjoying a Bailey’s, whilst Paul sipped a Tia Maria.

All-in-all then, a great experience with the food as good as we remember it! Hopefully, we won’t leave it another 11 years before we’re back here again! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
