The Generosity of Friends

VW Polo – ‘Marco’

We’re lucky enough to have lots of friends – friends, who over the years, have been very generous to us.

Today was another of those times when we were ‘bowled-over’ by a someone’s actions.

Lee, our good friend of many years, told us today, that after a lifetime of driving, she’s decided to hang-up her car keys. What Lee did next was amazing! She gave me her current car! The loud thunk that followed was my jaw hitting the floor! Amazing!!!

Being without a set of wheels since I retired in January last year meant a small loss of independence, but I was slowly getting used to it – and today therefore, came as a very pleasant surprise, and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel. As a thank-you, I’ve offered to be her taxi-driver-for-life!
