A very lazy day today – our last full day here before flying home tomorrow. What better way to spend it than doing nothing around the hotel pool. Temperature was just right – an occasional cool breeze and 27 degrees!
In the afternoon, we got packed for our return (always a depressing task!), especially as we know the weather is atrocious back in blighty!
For our final meal here in Dubai, we chose Asha’s, a well-known Indian Restaurant about 25 minutes away by cab. The restaurant was in a shopping mall that emulated Egypt, the Pharaohs and the Pyramids – very weird and somehow surreal to see how much it looked like the real thing.
It was a good meal in very plush surroundings. The journey back felt like it only took around 10 seconds! The cab driver felt he was in competition with the rest of the traffic in Dubai and this allowed him to attempt to set a new personal land-speed record!!! As a result, neither Ralph nor Ann enjoyed the trip back.
An early night for us – we’re more-or-less packed, with just a few bits to get together tomorrow.
By-bye Dubai! Next stop is Birmingham airport around 7pm tomorrow night. Back to reality ehh!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
