The paperwork arrived today so I can put my cherished plate on the Mondeo – Yippee!!
Visit to PaintShield
I drove up to PaintShield in Grantham today to have the protective film added to the Mondeo. Thanks to Tom’s generosity, he agreed to protect the whole bonnet rather than just part of it (which was a very pleasant surprise!). Time has flown, it only seems like yesterday that I had the film added to …

Doctor Who – Series 4, Episode 7
Before watching this episode, I did have my doubts – giant wasps and Agatha Christie!!! However, for me, it turned out to be a really enjoyable episode. Some excellent lines between the Doctor and Donna and strong acting all round made this my favourite so far. ..and now we know why Agatha Christie disappeared in …

Lunch with Karen and Ralph
We travelled to The Crown at Weston near Towcester – A sunny day, but not as warm as it looked. We’d not been there before, but I was about half-way between ours and theirs. The restaurant part was empty – which normally isn’t a good sign, but the food was excellent! Karen was troubled by …

Weather-wise, it’s been a disappointing day..rain, rain and more rain which was a bit of a surprise after last week’s record temperatures The taxi picked us up around 7.30 and we went for a drink at the Old Victoria to whet our …

Bye-Bye Mondeo
Well, that it’s then – I heard today that the salvage company called at the Ford Dealership to take Ann’s car away :(( The insurance company also picked up the loan car today as well. So now we are truly a one-car family
Scrap Value
After a small amount of negotiating, the Insurance Company agreed to pay us £2500 for the Mondeo. That’s a fair price! Now we just need to sort out all the paperwork!
Doctor Who – Series 4, Episode 6
This was the episode where the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny, made her first appearance. Georgia Moffett gave a good performance and would easily make a suitable companion in the future! The main story, for me though, was so-so. The acting was as usual, was very good and ‘Martha’ had an opportunity to demonstrate a wider range …

Last Rites for Ann’s Mondeo/Nicki visits…
Took a trip to the Dealership today to clear-out Ann’s car. We’ve still not heard from the Insurance Company regarding what they’ll offer us, but we’re obviously looking for the best price! This was a really sad moment – yes, it’s only four wheels and a lump of metal, but the car has been with …

Ann’s Car written-off
I guess we weren’t totally surprised, but around 3pm this afternoon, the Dealership rang to say that Zurich had declared Ann’s car a write-off. I think what DID surprise me was the paperwork and the process required to retrieve the cherished plate before it can be officially scrapped. This is a very sad day! 🙁 …

Trip to Ireland!
No, not that Ireland! This was a village just south of Bedford. Denise and I met up for lunch there. It was a scorching hot day so we sat outside. Great food – Denise had mussels and I had the Burger. Service was excellent although at the end, their machine was rejecting all credit-cards! Luckily …

5ive get together in London
It’s been ages! Carey, Philip, Angela, Antoinette and June all met up in Covent Garden – Tattons – to put-the-World-right and generally catch-up. It was a scorcher of a day and the place soon became packed, inside and out. We all had a great time. The time flew and before I knew it, it was …

Walkies!
It’s Bank Holiday Monday and we met up with David and Val having planned to do a ‘shortish’ walk in the Daventry area taking in Badby, Newnham, The Everdons and Fawsley. It was a beautiful day and seemed to be getting warmer as the day progressed. David acted as chauffeur and after a short drive …

Doctor Who – Series 4, Episode 5
Hhhhmmm, not sure about this one. It was a good story, but it just didn’t hold my attention. I was also disappointed with Freema’s ability to act ‘bad’…I just didn’t notice the difference between that and her normal self apart from a few curling of lips and snarling. Shame! I guess the big surprise was …

Alloy RefurbedTook the Mondeo in to have the alloy refurbed that Ann accidentally kerbed last week Estimate for Ann’s CarPaul dropped the estimate round – youch! Ouch! Car Crash
11.40am Ouch! – I was travelling back from Cambridge today. One minute I was joining the carriageway..and the next I’d ploughed into the car in front. Doctor Who – Series 4, Episode 4
I’m writing this on Sunday as we were away over the weekend and I watched this episode on Sky+. The Sontaran Strategem. Another really good episode (the one where Martha returns). I thought the story-line was very strong and the episode itself well acted by all concerned. Nice to see Bernard Cribbins back in the …
