Pub Lunch: Queen’s Head at Bulwick

Reading time: < 1 minute...

We haven’t been here for a while! Our previous visit (back in August 2019) was with Chris and Gill on our way back from Apethorpe Palace. On this occasion, we met up with Jane and Mick, our long-time friends from our JS days!

So, here we are at The Queen’s Head in Bulwick (pop: 152 – excluding us!) and it was good to catch-up with Jane and Mick again having not seen them since Dexter’s in Oundle last October.

On arrival, we were soon shown to our table – a large table for four by the window, opposite the Bar.

The Menu was straightforward with the addition of seven home-cooked speciality Pizzas.

One of the nice things about their uncomplicated menu is that it didn’t take long to decide. For Starters, Ann and Jane opted for Soup-of-the-Day (Broccoli) whilst Mick and I chose the Goat’s Cheese Tart.

For Mains: I was the odd-one-out! I chose the Pasta whilst everyone else went for the half-chicken.

The food and service was good, and I have no doubt we’ll be re-visiting here again before too long. Having not seen Jane and Mick for almost twelve months, and with so much news to catch up with, the time passed in a flash – and even though we skipped Desserts, we didn’t leave until just before 2.45pm.
