Meal for 6 in Worthing

Reading time: < 1 minute...

We travelled down to Worthing today late morning on Saturday. The reason? Back in October, we went to a Charity-do for Foster Carers, something that Sharon’s involved with. Our table won the ‘we-come-round-to-yours-and-cook-a-full-meal’ prize. As it turned out, it was Sharon who was offering the prize and so we booked a night’s stop-over at Edwardian Dreams Guest House and at around 7.15 the mini-bus picked us up to take us around to Ian and Sharon’s for the meal.

The journey got off to a bad start – the exit for the M25 was closed, so we had to head for Worthing via the A21 towards Hastings! It took ages!

We stopped off at Polegate Services for a quick bite to eat at ‘Table-Table’- a chain we had not heard of – around 2pm. We arrived in Worthing at 3. We did a little shopping and then headed for the Guest House.

Overall the journey took ages! considering we left at 9.30!

We checked into our room – room 3 – and decided to have a snooze before getting ready. Were were up at 5.45 and started to get ready for our gourmet meal. The mini-bus arrived slightly early at 7.10 and by 7.20 we were at Ian and Sharon’s chatting with our co-diners – Diana, Pete, Julia and Ian. Sharon and Lesley were chefs for the evening.

The meal was superb! Salmon and Prawn with a chili dip for starters. This was followed by Pork and Prunes with seasonal vegetables..then three desserts..then a full cheese-board! It5 was all accompanied by more wine than you could shake a cork-screw at.

We had a great time. The mini-bus arrived around 11pm and we were tucked-up in bed by 11.45. A very enjoyable day!!

We’ll have our normal ‘full-English’ at the Guest House tomorrow morning and then head for home.
