We met up with Paul and Sue in Rothwell for our normal quarterly get-together. We had decided to try out Franco’s, a new Italian Restaurant in the Rothwell House Hotel.
The food was good, but the restaurant was almost empty – which was a shame! The waitress worked hard but there were some fundamentals that didn’t help the restaurant’s potential success. Firstly there was no sign as to where the restaurant was in the hotel. Secondly, the hotel and the restaurant menu were littered with spelling mistakes and lastly, they got Paul and my order wrong!!!
On a more positive note, it was good to catch up with Paul and Sue and all their news. However, sadly, Paul had recently lost his Dad and was still wading through the paperwork and going through the grieving process. Sue had been on a cruise with a girlfriend and had had a wonderful time. Ben seems to be doing well with Am-Dram. We spent most of the evening reflecting on what it’s like to get old!!!
We’re going to catch-up sometime in March next year. We got home around 10.30
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
