Another ‘silly o’clock’ start with the car picking us up at 6.30am to get us to the airport for our 8.50 flight. So, it was Rice Al-Krispies at 5.45am and goodbye to what’s been possibly the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at.
The journey to the airport was incident-free and we were soon joining the business commuters on the 737 to our next destination. Muscat, Oman and the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa. After some faffing around at the airport for a visa we were soon on our way. The country has developed somewhat since we were last here five years ago – you can easily see the western influences in the shape of KFC, Burger King and McD’s! In spite of this, it still seems to have retained a less-commercial personality and contrasts 180 degrees with say, Dubai.

After unpacking, we spent the afternoon around the pool, catching up with our reading. Then, after a quick snooze, it was off to find somewhere to eat. That was the easy bit, as we stumbled into the Asian Buffet – and what a buffet it was! Scrummy!!!!

We finished the evening by wandering along to the Piano Lounge, for a cuppa and a chill-out, then waddled back to our room top catch-up with the UK news

Nothing planned for tomorrow – another tough day ahead!!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
