Car Blog 2
I returned to Grantham today to ‘Paintshield‘. They specialise in fitting adhesive film to the front of cars to protect the paintwork from stone chips and other debris. Needed to have some minor adjustments made to the original film application; plus, I decided to have the film applied to the headlamps too! Have you seen …

Senior Citizen Blog
I was really chuffed to be invited to Eric Austin’s celebratory lunch today. He’s 91 (one the eldest OCA members) and I helped him pull together a short book recently that reflected on his life. It was his way of saying thank you. I also met his daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Rod. Ann was unable …

Restaurant Blog
Took one of my top clients (Julia B) to a nice Italian restaurant in Kensington. The Ark. Very understated, but the food was EXCELLENT. Giggles (and slight embarassment) all round when I ordered a bottle of Chardonnay costing 120 pounds!
Mondeo Blog
Well, the trusty Mondeo broke down on Ann today – miles away in Andover. Seems to be the same problem again, a flat battery, that caught me out a few weeks back. Fortunately, we got it recovered back to Paul’s and they’ll spend a few days looking it over.

Now that the bulk of paid work is over for the year, I can indulge in my other passion, ‘fiddling with PCs’. Stayed overnight at the Ibis, Earl’s Court and then off to Angela C’s in Isleworth to get her shiny new Dell PC up and running with broadband and transfer the data from her …

Zorro Blog
We went to see the new Zorro film “The Legend of Zorro” with Jo and Jan at the local Odeon. Wow! …a wafer-thin plot, involving ‘government types’ on a black ops mission, the obligatory bald bad-guy henchman plus a reference to weapons of mass destruction….and I don’t mean Zeta-Zones’ mammarys! What a story-line! Best bit …

Fireworks Blog
Ann’s friend Nicki joined us on Saturday for the annual firework display at Wicksteed Park. It was a cold evening with a touch of rain. A good event overall, but a stray catherine wheel brought things to an abrupt halt after flying off and injuring a number of spectators. They say they’ll be an enquiry …

Chris and Pete organised a really good 1940’s themed murder mystery evening at Rushden Hall. Brilliant! Clearly, a lot of preparation went into the event and the neighbours as actors played their parts very convincingly Well done you two – we had a GREAT time!!

We took Mum off for a long weekend to Rye, staying at the ‘Most Haunted Hotel in Britain’ (apparently) – The Mermaid Inn. About the only scary thing was the stairs and trying to park safely in the car park! (Always busy and very small!) The food was excellent, and so were the staff! I …
