Ann and Lee drove over to John Lewis in Leicester to pick up a few final bits and pieces for Lee’s new place in Avondale Mews and also to return the damaged roller-blind that was delivered last week. They were out for most of the day having incorporated B and Q into their day out!
After a hurried curry dinner (yum yum), we all popped down to the Mews to finish as many of the little jobs off as possible – hanging pictures; putting up curtains; replacing the toilet seat; hanging the bedroom mirror, adding a towel rail in the kitchen as well as utensil thingy and finally, checking the troublesome internet connection – that’s still not working! I couldn’t do the soap dish for the shower because the battery on my drill packed up (strange, as it’s been on charge for about six months!)
Whilst we were there, we also got rid of the mountains of cardboard that’s accumulated by putting it into the spanking new wheelie-bin, provided yesterday by Kettering Council.
9.30pm Job did – and we’re pretty knackered but pleased with ourselves as the place is almost ready now for Lee to move into permanently! There are still a few more jobs to do, but they can be sorted as-and-when.
Just time to catch Doctor Who on Sky+, and see how badly we did at the Eurovision Song Contest!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
