I met up with Sally at our normal haunt Brown’s in Cambridge – just before 12.30. The atrocious weather and frightening on-street car parking prices (50p for 15 minutes!!!) was more than made up for by the excellent service and quality of the food at Brown’s – that’s my starter on the left – a sort of ‘slither-of-duck-with noodles-and–peppers’. Sally stuck to her diet, and enjoyed her salad, whilst I tucked into the braised gammon and new potatoes.
After gossiping for ages and avoiding dessert for the sake of waistlines, (settling just for a tea and a coffee), it was two o’clock and time to say our good-byes. We’re meeting-up again in January and hopefully, we can get Katrina to come along too!
When we left, it was raining so hard, people were huddling under trees for shelter – I think I may have stood-out in my t-shirt! Luckily, I’d managed to get the car parked right outside the restaurant!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
