I drove down to South Mimms to meet up with Simon Herrington. We haven’t seen each other since we worked together on the Nokia project some 8-9 years ago. He hadn’t changed a bit, and it was great to catch-up with all his news (including a new addition to the family – a daughter!)
On the way back, I popped round to Trish and John’s to assess the state of the PC that had mysteriously ‘died’ last week. It was freezing on boot-up and in spite of lots of testing by me, I couldn’t get it to work. I had to leave it in the same state and suggested they call the guy that helped out Karen and Val when they had a serious problem with theirs.
On a completely different note, we learned today that Ann’s employer had called her bluff on the potential ‘equal pay’ claim we were pursuing. That means that we could pursue it, but she’d lose the full redundancy package in the mean-time, and we’d spend the next year-or-so chasing the case, spending loadsa money on Solicitors and Barristers – and no doubt getting stressed-out about it all. Time to move on we think and concentrate on getting Ann another job!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
