38 degrees C, Thunderstorms predicted.
We got up around 8 and had breakfast in the Restaurant. We decided to have a final round of crazy-golf as it looked as if the whole ship was going to get off and visit the island of Ilhabela. However, it was too hot to play, so we headed for the tender!
Wow! What a beautiful place!! Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars – and very clean too!
Boy, is it hot. It touched 38 degrees C when we landed. We quickly found a bar and afterwards took a walk around the bay. We found a restaurant and somehow managed to order a seafood platter and drinks. The prawns were the biggest we’d seen and together with chips made an excellent lunch.
Payment-wise, Ralph to the rescue as the whole island only took MasterCard! I guess it was obvious as we looked around – MasterCard symbols on everything from waiters’ t-shirts to some of the road signs.
Just as we finished lunch, it started to rain. So we headed back to the ship. Once back on board, we headed for the Windjammer restaurant which was strangely quiet.
Then, back to the cabin to begin packing for disembarkation tomorrow. We managed to get the exit-time changed from a scary 7am departure to a slightly more sedate 9.20. It means that we’ll only have about 6 hours to kill at the airport.
It’s been a great holiday, although the cruise line was disappointing in many respects. Still, we have plenty of stories to tell and photos to show…
Christmas Holiday Blog ends…
Full itinerary HERE

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
