38 degrees C. Sunny and very, very hot!
We docked at 6.30. Looks likes a hot one coming up!
We both felt a bit wrecked after last night’s formal night. Ralph and me in our DJs and the girls in their finest complemented the freshly-placed baseball caps and clean t-shirts of some of our guests! (The ship is full of rules, so why have a rule that says it’s a formal night if some people completely ignore the rule!)
I digress…
Some say it’s going to be a really hot day here – 38 degrees C, 99 degrees F. As it was an early start, we chose room-service. Unfortunately it didn’t show up! So we headed for the coach empty-bellied!!
So, we jumped on the coach and headed for Sugar-loaf Mountain and the iconic statue Christo. Boy is it hot!!! Anyway after queuing for ages, we finally jumped on the cable-car and headed for the top. Wow, what a view! Although, we were hardly there anytime at all. Then it was back on the coach for a quick tour of the city of Rio. This included a stop at a very unconventional Cathedral… pyramid shaped!
We arrived back on the ship around 2pm, sharpened our elbows and headed for the Windjammer buffet! Food was OK but hardly inspirational.
For the rest of the afternoon, we did our own thing.
New year’s eve tonight. A fantastic firework display over Copacabana Beach.
Ships’s dress is ‘white’…
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
