We went to the Falcon at Fotheringhay with David and Val together with Val’s Mum and Dad, Mike and Rose.
The drive over there was atrocious – rain, rain and more rain… and it got worse once we were inside (not the rain!)
The food was very good, although the service was a tad slow. They forgot our dessert wines and they didn’t seem to want to take our money! 🙂
On the plus-side, we had a superb view of the Church in Fotheringhay from our table – it was lit-up beautifully. Also, to Val’s surprise yhey must have overheard us talking about the fact that it was Val’s birthday – dessert arrived with the biggest candle on it I’ve ever seen. I say ‘candle’ – it was more like a firework!!!
The drive back was easier although somehow, Val managed to get back before David and he left before us.
We were knackered, so we declined coffee and headed straight for bed. I think we got back around 10.45 pm.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
