Here we are at the Quorndon Fox in Loughborough. We were last here on New Year’s day in 2021 with Jo, Janet and Carol. Today, more of the same – ‘a get together with mates’ – with a long overdue catchup with Ralph and Karen.

Getting there was another frustrating experience, where the M1 came to a complete stop for around half an hour, just before junction 21 for no apparent reason. This meant we missed our 12.30 booking by about 10 minutes, but at one point the SatNav said we were going to be late by about half-an-hour). The car park was busy, and so, not surprisingly, inside, the Fox was heaving, with every table occupied! R&K had arrived at 12.15 and were sipping coffees by the time we were shown to our table (but had thoughtfully not ordered their meal! 🤔).

The menu looked good, with plenty of variety that catered for all tastes. Service was swift (ish) but clearly the staff were under a bit of pressure because the restaurant was so busy. Still, our Server, Vicki, looked after us well, and we were soon tucking into our Turkey and catching up with what we’d all been up to since we last saw each other, back in May for the late Bank Holiday. The Desserts were just as yummy – mine was a Cherry and Plum Crumble!

This was another eatery where the portions were as generous as they were tasty – and we all agreed that the meal had been excellent! 😋😋😋😋.
We left around 4.15 where, thankfully, the journey home was incident-free. At least it was dry, and we were indoors just after 5.30. Well, that’s our SECOND Christmas meal… the next one is TOMORROW! 😁 (Tough life, ehh?!?!)

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
