It was a welcome return to Kilworth House this evening to see Dusty Springfield in concert. It wasn’t THE Dusty (obviously!) but a darn good impression! The event had been postponed from October last year, then again in April, because of you-know-what, but tonight was (finally!) the night!!! The performance was called: Delightfully Dusty.
Tonight, we acted as the taxi service and picked up Jo and Janet. Carol made her own way there and joined us in The Orangery where we’d all pre-booked a meal!
The Meal
No bad, although I think someone forgot to add the Stilton to the Broccoli & Stilton Soup!
The Performance
To use that well-worn phrase: ‘She had a good pair of lungs on her..!’ was a bit of an under-statement! She belted out the tunes, one after the other with hardly room for breath. Great stuff!

…and if ONE 60’s pop icon wasn’t enough, along came ‘Lulu’ and ‘Petula’ to entertain us with a few of their hits – as well as duetting with Dusty on a few numbers!

We left around 10.15pm and it had been a great evening! Plenty of familiar tunes performed with bags of energy. Even if Kilworth’s kitchen offer wasn’t quite as good as we remember it, it didn’t matter much. It was just good to be out, enjoying some quality entertainment with friends – just like it used to be!
Thanks for getting things organised Janet! 😍
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
