Whilst we are lucky enough to have a very comfy standard of living, many don’t – and with that in mind, David, my neighbour, and I, decided that we would try and live on just £1 a day for food, for the next seven days – starting tomorrow – with the money we’re ‘saving’ going to a good cause: Children in Need.
Selecting the right place to buy our food was essential. If we’d dropped into Waitrose, we would have spent it all just in the first two minutes!!! So, we dressed-down, and blended in with the locals – all three of them – for an early morning visit to the local Lidl.
Twenty minutes, and £13.93 later – 7p under budget! – with our collective smug looks cranked up to 11, we filled the boot with enough to give us three ‘meals’ a day for this period of denial.
Pasta plays a big part (it’s filling!), and OK, it’s not the most varied of menus (our ‘five-a-day’ fruit/veg thing, like Elvis, has left the building!) but still, it’ll be an interesting experiment, the money saved is going to a worthy cause – and I could do with losing a few pounds before the real Christmas Stuffing starts!!

Now the tricky bit…!!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
