With the weather forecast promising Sahara-like temperatures here today, the priority was to get all the chores out of the way, as quickly as possible, and then take up permanent residence on a sun-lounger!
So, it was over to Peterborough first thing to put some distance between my eyebrows and my fringe (a haircut in other words!), before popping into town with Ann and Lee to get a few bits and pieces for a lazy meal tonight with our friends Jo and Janet. We parked in Sainsbury’s car-park before heading into the centre of town and M and S. It was good to see the sun shining, but as a consequence, not-so-nice to see so much un-ironed flesh on show – welcome to Kettering!! ![]()
The weather, for once, lived up to its promises, and the day turned out to be a real scorcher – it was almost TOO hot!!! Ann and Lee slaved in the kitchen preparing a full three-course Italian-themed meal as the temperatures rose there as well as outside! Then, about an hour before Jo and Janet arrived, it rained, albeit for only about three minutes – but it cooled everything down nicely.
As expected, the meal was nothing short of fab and with the cooler weather, we all sat outside until about 11.30.
All-in-all, a GREAT day – and what Summers are all about! ![]()
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
