I headed for London this afternoon, to meet up with Carey, Antoinette and Angela. We’ve booked a table at one of our favourite haunts – ‘EV’ (part of the Turkish ‘TAS’ restaurant chain) near Waterloo.
Well, it was great to catch-up, and seemed like ages since we’d done this (it wasn’t that long ago!). The food and service (as always) was excellent, and unusually, the place wasn’t heaving (just very busy), which made it for me, a more pleasurable experience.
It seemed like we’d only just got talking when I realised that it was 8pm and I needed to leave in order to catch my ‘timed-train’. A real shame that I had to go just when the conversation was starting to flow, but I guess that’s the disadvantages of living so far away from London! I nearly fell asleep on the train, which wouldn’t have helped as it finishes in Derby!!!
The train arrived in Kettering just before 10, and I was home just before 10.15. It had been a great evening, but I felt exhausted and due to some bonkers planning on my part, I’m in London tomorrow too, and didn’t think to sort out some accommodation! Doh!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
