Nicki joined us today for a shopping expedition over to Market Harborough. Weather-wise, it was another scorcher here today – 27 degrees by lunchtime. We parked in the Sainsbury car-park and walked through into the main town centre. Just like Cambridge yesterday, the town was packed.
After doing most of the kitchen shops to death (our fave type of shop!) and a few clothes shops, we decided the stop for an earlyish lunch. We settled on Zizzi’s and even managed to get a table outside.
We haven’t eaten at a Zizzi’s for quite a while and the menu looked good. It didn’t take a long to make up our minds and we were soon tucking in. An hour later with starters and a main packed away, none of us could manage a dessert – not even coffee, so we paid-up and headed back to the car, by way of a few more shops. As soon as we got home, it was straight out in the garden to soak up what was left of the sun (still around 24 degrees) and to force down some muffins that Nicki had brought with her. Ever had a muffin? Sure! Ever had a muffin with cream inside? Well, it was a first for us, and they tasted delicious!
We spent the rest of the day just chillin’ until Nicki had to leave us around 5.30.
It’s been a great day! Good food, good friends and good weather. What more can you ask for?
Off to Mum’s tomorrow.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
