I picked up a bargain on Amazon this week in the shape of the Logitech Squeezebox Radio. It’s a neat device that looks and behaves like a radio except that it gets its signal via your router – so no dodgy reception issues, even with our very s-l-o-w internet connection. It also receives Internet-only radio stations form all over the world, AND (here’s why I bought it) allows you to stream all your MP3s from your PC or your iTunes Library straight to it.
If that’s not enough, it’s got a remote control and a rechargeable battery. This means it’ll be ideal for those two days yet-to-come, later this year, called ‘Summer’ when we’ll be able to have our music in the garden without having to trail cables and speakers all over the place!!
There’s a neat video HERE
Heck it even ‘talks to’ our other Squeezebox family member, the Logitech Squeezebox Boom, that Ann bought me last Christmas, allowing us to have the same music playing on both units, or something different – in different locations. And for those Facebook addicts out there (yes, that’s me too), it’ll even post facts about the track you’re listening to, onto your Wall.
Genius!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
