The 'hutch' is growing on me even if it's not growing in size. The guys who are running it have a fantastic eye for detail. At breakfast we had freshly squeezed juice from the orange tree outside plus home-made cherry jam together with the mandatory french-bread-and-croissants. All finished off with freshly brewed coffee, it's a great start to the day.
After our excellent breakfast, we took a 20 minute walk to the town of “Juan les Pins” – an excellent sea-side resort. It's a beautiful day – very warm, and getting warmer by the hour! A quick mooch around the shops, then we hopped on the train to Cannes – just a couple of stops away. There are a great selection of shops here too…but a little out of our price-range!
Back to Antibes by train. We picked up a few cakes and a soft drink for tonight's meal and then found lunch at “La CΓ΄te Γ L'Os” a nice little restaurant tucked away down a side-street (we came across it yesterday). We went for one of their cheap 'all-in' menus. Ann had lamb on a skewer with a salad (interestingly, the skewer-bit was served dangling vertically above the salad on a metal support). Γ had turkey in a camembert sauce – beautiful! We both drunk far too much red wine, but the walk back helped. Just time to stop off at a local coffee-shop for our last coffee of the day!
We even found a newsagent that had today's papers – perfect!!
We're going to spend the rest of the day back at the 'hutch' catching up on UK news.
