After a short lull in proceedings, my ‘big’ Birthday celebrations have restarted!![]()
Tonight, Ann and I travelled down to London for an evening meal with my close Trainer friends from the (many) days working on the British Airways project back in 2000.
The restaurant of choice was the ever-reliable EV’s – our semi-regular haunt just off The Cut, serving Turkish cuisine. By the time we arrived, the gang were already there and we were soon scanning the menu and catching-up. Within the hour, the restaurant was heaving, with people waiting for a table, so I’m glad we’d all arranged to meet early.

The Gang: June, Angela, Rick, Philip, Carey and Antoinette were in great form and it was easy to get back into ‘birthday celebration mode’ – and good to see them all this time. I was so chuffed to receive a very generous gift of Amazon vouchers, and they even laid on a slice of birthday cake together with the obligatory rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’!!
Fantastic!

Because Ann and I had experienced some travel difficulties on the way down (mainly down to the volume of traffic near Bedford station), we left rather earlier than planned – 9.15 and as it turned out, this was a good move as the train went on a go-slow as we approached Bedford. The result? We didn’t get in until close to midnight! ![]()
Still, it had been a great evening, with great food and great company – just how birthdays should be!![]()
Next birthday celebration: Sunday, with Ian and Mags – let the celebrations continue! (at this rate, I’ll be 61 before the eating stops!!!)![]()
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
