Today was a return visit for us to the George & Dragon in Seaton for Lunch – this time, with good friends, David and Valerie. The reason? A post-birthday celebratory meal for David and me! 😊
With David acting as chauffeur, we set off just before 11.

We first came here back in August on recommendation – and back then, it didn’t disappoint, and we promised ourselves another visit 👍😃.
Uppingham
But before the promise of food, there was the promise of a walk, and we decided to take a leisurely wander around nearby Uppingham beforehand. We hadn’t done that in a while, and being a Friday, it was Market Day too!

For October, it was a pleasantly warm day (if a little blustery!). In fact, we didn’t really need top coats at all! The town had a real buzz about it, and we picked up a few non-essentials from the Market, including some ginormous Eccles Cakes before wandering past the main shops (and back again).
All that shopping had given us an appetite and so, our next stop was the Pub! 😋😋😋😋
The George & Dragon

We arrived a little early for our 12.30 table, but we were soon seated and looking through the menu.

We skipped Starters, opting for Mains and a Dessert. Service was as bit slow, but it was worth the wait, because we all thought the food was superb!
All-in-all then, a very enjoyable experience! Based on how tasty the food has been on both of our visits, we think the George & Dragon is fast becoming one of those destinations that we’ll be returning to again the future.

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
