Stamford Stroll

Reading time: < 1 minute...

We haven’t done this in a while – a wander around the beautiful town of Stamford.

The weather forecast wasn’t brilliant, but we aimed to dodge the showers, even if that meant, diving into the shops for cover! 😉. We must get out more though, as we realised that we hadn’t done this for at least a couple of years – maybe even longer! 🤔.

After parking, our first stop was the Adnam’s shop to stock up on our fave Cider – their low-alcohol variety called ‘Wild Wave’.

With the drinks order taken care off (and at a discounted price too!) we headed for Lion Square.

After a quick look at the Jewellers nearby (ahh, good old Stamford – no prices on anything in the window, supporting that old adage: “If you want to know the price, you can’t afford it!”. We avoided any sign of temptation, and instead, headed for nearby Savers in the High Street! (where we could!) 😉.

For a Wednesday, the town was very busy, and such a contrast to the shops back home in Kettering. We managed to get everything on our shopping list, and with the weather holding, we decided to NOT grab lunch in a pub, but instead, pick up some nibbles from M&S and have an inpromptu picnic OUTSIDE.

Luckily, there is plenty of green space here and we settled on a new park-bench just adjacent to where we’d parked. Ahh, perfect! (not!!) – just as we sat down, the skies turned grey, and it looked like it was about to belt it down. Someone must have been smiling on us though, because the rain never came, and we enjoyed some light nibbles whilst making the most of the very pleasant surroundings.

What a very enjoyable visit! 👍👍.
