Day 1 – Wednesday, 2nd November

Morning all! Not a bad view! I think I could get used to this!ππ.

It’s Day 1 of our Cyprus adventure with great mates Paul & Sue! We’ve got a lazy one planned for today, including a birthday lunch with Geoff at 1pm! Until then, it’s… very little indeed! π

Around the Annabelle
After a delicious breakfast sitting outside, as promised, here are a few photos of the area around the Hotel…

9.32am: It’s about 9.30am, and a very pleasant 22β. I don’t think we’re going to be short of somewhere to sit and admire the glorious blue sky and soak up some rays! ππ
Birthday Lunch
12.45pm: Geoff picked us up for our 1pm table. It’s his 70th birthday today, and we’re celebrating it at The Muse Cafe/Bar.

1.00pm: Well, this is very nice! It was getting busy when we got there and continued to fill up all the time we were there.

Ideally placed for stunning views across Paphos with a good view of the coast too!

The Muse was certainly enjoying a good trade, but we did have to work quite hard to get the Waiter’s attention. Once we did, things moved along quite smoothly.

Time to present Geoff with his gifts! A Palmichael Voucher and our custom ‘Dodgy Appron’! (yes, I know, it’s deliberate!)

2.15pm: Our food arrived (eventually!) β and it was worth the wait! Delicious! You can’t beat Cypriot Potatoes IMO! π

3.09pm: Time was pushing on, so we skipped Dessert. Whilst Geoff ferried the girls back to his Apartment, Paul and I ‘put the world to rights’ whilst we were waiting. Geoff arrived about 25 minutes later after a delayed journey due to roadworks and we all headed off to the Apartment.

3.55pm: It was the first time that we’d seen their place and we liked it! On the balcony, there were some great views across the town. We spent the time chatting, enjoying coffee and chocolates β and I even managed to solve an issue with Geoff’s ageing laptop! ππ. After about half-an-hour, as the Sun went down, the temperature began to drop.
4.46pm: Time to say our goodbyes (until Friday’s Party!) and head back to the Annabelle. Once again, Birthday Boy, Geoff acted as Chauffeur and dropped us back at our Hotel.

7.25pm: Time for a cheeky pre-dinner drinkie at the Hotel’s BuzBar ππ

8.00pm: And to finish our day, our half-board meal in the main Restaurant.
9.25pm: There was a great selection of food on offer with hot food, cheeseboard, salads β and best of all ice-cream. We all ate light(ish)
We’ve had a great day. It was a real treat to be part of Geoff’s celebrations today, and the very pleasant weather made it feel EXTRA special! If there is a downside to all this pleasure, it’s that I can already feel that I’ve eaten more than I should! Ok, there are worse problems to have, but with the quality and quantity of food on offer here, it’s going to be very easy to over-eat. We’ve also neglected our walking a bit and so tomorrow, after breakfast, we’re walking into the Old Town and the Harbour. It’s not the greatest of distances, but it’ll be a good first step (literally!) π
10.40pm: See you tomorrow. Sleep well! π΄π΄

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s!Β My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here β it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
