Mel and Johnny joined us today for the weekend. We haven’t seen them since we were down in Portsmouth in July last year. Before that, it was April 2007 when they stayed with us last.
Johnny had had a ‘store visit’ so they didn’t get to us until around 7.15pm (the original plan was for them to get here much earlier, but they’d had the ‘journey from Hell’ on the way up – Johnny mentioned that his car had averaged just under 30mph for the whole trip.
We helped them unload their stuff, had a quick chat and then dived into Fish and Chips (thanks Val!!!) and then cheese as well as a brulé – all very nice.
We collapsed in the lounge and picked-up the conversation from before dinner – suddenly it was almost 11pm and we then realised how tired we all were.
A lazy day is planned for tomorrow and depending on the weather, we might venture out to somewhere like Kirby Hall and take a picnic.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
