Charity event

Reading time: < 1 minute...

Last night’s event on behalf of the United Foster Carers’ Association was great! – Sharon’s on the Committee. We met Pete and Diane, who were part of our table and we had a good laugh for a worthy cause.

The event was based around a three-course meal (good food for 12 quid!) and a disco. It started off with the annual NVQ awards. We then had awards for individual Foster Carers – it was a pity that more weren’t there to receive their award!

Part of the evening included an open auction, which was great fun. We bid for and won some nice flower arrangements. As a ‘table’ we also won an evening where we’re picked-up and cooked for – brilliant!

Another unique feature was that one of the guests got up and sang live. Apparently he’s won a recording contract. He sang four songs, mostly Stevie Wonder numbers and he had a really nice voice – destined for greater things we think.

After a few dances and a few more drinks, we left at 11 and got back to the B and B by around 11.15.

We slept well and layed-in until 7am. We got dressed and prepared ourselves for the legendary ‘full-English’.

We left at 8.30 and got home by 11.05. A good journey, but we had rain, rain and more rain all the way home.
