A fantastic meal in the Hotel restaurant last night! A very busy place, and it’s clear its customers, both French and Brits come from miles around to eat here.
Today started off cloudy and damp, so we plan to do museums and stuff that’s INSIDE.
First call is the famous Bayeux Tapestry and the Cathedral. Great stuff!
Next, it’s the American War Cemetery at Coleville-sur-Mer. We haven’t been there since our first French holiday, 20ish years ago!
Last stop was the last remaining gun emplacements designed to shell the advancing allies during D Day.
We finished off at the ‘360 Experience’ that used 8 screens to tell a virtual history of the local area during the 2nd World War
We’re eating in again tonight – hope it’s as good as last night.
Caen Market tomorrow!

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
