The Wheatsheaf has been on our go-to eateries list for many years. Like many similar establishments, it’s had its highs and lows – and seen a few owners too! When we were here back in 2025, it was ‘OK’ rather than ‘Wow!’. – Food… ✅ but service… 😮
We all arrived about the same time, and after grabbing a drink at the Bar, it was a gorgeous day, so we sat outside for eating.
Happily, the service levels were back to their usual high standard, and we were soon perusing their Lunch Menu.
It had to be the Homemade Steak & Ale Pie for me, whilst Ann tucked into their Beef-Burger (sans bun!) and Chris and Gill picked the Fish & Chips. The food was as good as ever, and it was good to experience the great service that we remember from earlier years. In fact, it felt like the perfect day, soaking up the sun, and catching up with great friends! 🌞😎.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
