Evening all! π΅βπ«π΅βπ«
Day 2 – Where are we? (Thursday, 31st October)
This is the briefest of stopovers in Singapore before we grab the plane tomorrow taking us to Australia. We’re also returning to Singapore at the other end of this holiday – Day 31 – where we’ll have a few days to properly soak up the sights. It’ll be interesting to see the changes since we were last here in February 2019.
5.52pm: We’re both a bit ‘cream crackered’ after our 13-hour flight from Heathrow yesterday evening (11274km/just over 7000 miles, apparently!). It was just as well, because getting through immigration was an absolute breeze – about 9 million eGates certainly helped, where they all seemed to be working too! No queues! π. Changi Airport has certainly changed in appearance since we were last here. We’re in Terminal 3 where everything is super-clean, super-efficient and super-large.
6.12pm: We’re staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel based right inside Changi Airport, where we’re here simply for a good night’s sleep before the flight tomorrow morning at a very reasonable time of 9.55am to Brisbane, Australia.
Again, check-in was a short affair. No swiping of credit cards, most of the paperwork already filled in – all we needed to do was sign! So, just time to take a few photos of our Hotel room – room 765 located in the ‘Jewel Wing’…
Well, this all feels like a very good start to the holiday. On our return to Singapore at the tail end of our holiday, let’s hope the Holiday Inn Express in Clarke Quay is as good.
Catch you tomorrow evening on the other side after our 8-hour flight to Brisbane, Australia for our four-night stay.
8.15pm: It feels like it’s been a long day – and we need to check out by 7am tomorrow. So, we’re signing off from Singapore! Nighty-night! π΄π΄
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here β it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
